Mountain fist bump

Another panorama from atop of the Cascade Mountain - this time during the daylight. Well, sort of, because it was already after 7pm and the sun started preparing to set.

Plus, the rock on the top of the mountain looks like a fist ready to bump! 

I rarely do HDRs, because it is always a struggle to make them look natural. This one is close, but still not quite there. I was using the HDR Efex 2, maybe I'll try again with Lightroom 6?

Three posts with temples in a row? Time to return to Hong Kong then!

After a week of hard work, after a busy Saturday night (don't ask) there is hardly a better place to rest your tired eyes and body than Hong Kong Park. You can sit on a bench, watch fish and turtles, go to  the aviary and watch birds or go to the tai chi court and watch Chinese people trying to catch imaginary spiders.

The "White" Temple

In the light of the rising sun, the White Temple does not look that white anymore. Still, it is unlike any other "wat" I have seen in Thailand so far. Usually they are either painted gold or full spectrum of colours. But white?
If you want to visit it, the best time is either during fresh morning hours (just a tad before 8am) or in the afternoon (closes at 5pm, but it is worth waiting for the sunset).

No Hong Kong today, Kuala Lumpur instead.

Modern city, known mostly from Petronas Twin Towers landmark, pretty clean for asian standards. But every city needs a green refuge, a park, garden, or - like in this case - a mosque with surroundings designed to escape the midday heat. Or to spend lovely evening just walking around.

To me, this picture could be of a palace garden of 1001 nights.

My original plan was to post yet another Hong Kong pic today, but I woke up earlier and was hit with this magnificent sunrise.

Sunrise of the eclipsed sun over Montreal

This is the day of a solar eclipse and the bottom part of the sun is covered by the moon, but you can't see it on this photo. It was a rare hybrid solar eclipse which happens once in 150 years or so. Montreal got only partial eclipse though - it began before the sunrise and when the Sun finally showed up, the moon was covering only a small slice. And it was over in 15 minutes.

Mother of all sunrises

I got up at 3:30am to arrive at the bridge before the sunrise. And it was totally worth it! It's the same bridge as in this post, but with different light. Wait, there's more! See here for all four pictures taken in the very same morning.

I was tired of manually merging AE-bracketed shots in PS Elements 11. So I'm trying Nik Software plugins right now. The picture above is the first victim. Merged from 3 long-exposure JPEG pictures (ND filters FTW!), pre-processed for sharpness and detail in LR5, then loaded up to Nik HDR Efex Pro 2. I think, I've found a tool to process my HDR images of the Confederation Bridge now (coming up soon).
